Asthma is an illness that is characterized by the narrowing of the bronchial tubes, usually due to an allergic reaction to a variety of stimuli, which produces inflammation. The narrowing can be caused by a reaction to many substances that produce an allergic reaction, such as powder, animal hair, cold air and environmental sources. Asthma is caused by the spasms in the smooth muscles surrounding the bronchial tubes and bronchioles (small airways in the lungs), causing the passageways to partially close. The spasms are accompanied by increased mucus, which clogs the bronchial tubes and worsens the attack. The immune system produces histamine and leucotrines, which produce the increased mucus, and results in difficulty breathing, coughing, wheezing and a tight chest. Most cases of asthma can be controlled, but in some cases it can be fatal.

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes, generally caused by an infection. The illness is generally not serious and patients are almost always treated satisfactorily. Infectious bronchitis is most often manifested in the winter; it can be caused by viruses or bacteria. Recurrent infections can be a consequence of chronic sinusitis, allergies, tonsils and inflamed adenoids. Often, infectious bronchitis begins with a common cold: runny nose, fatigue, chills, back pains, light fever and sore throat. Coughing is in general a symptom of the beginning of bronchitis.

Asthmatonic is specially formulated for the prevention and treatment of bronchitis and asthma, with the purpose of helping the respiratory system to alleviate such symptoms as respiratory congestion, coughing, allergies and inflammation of the sinuses.

Asthmatonic includes four herbal ingredients: Asthmachilca, Fennel, Eucalyptus, and Pulmonaria. We also include bee honey in this compound. We know that plants are alive beings, with a nuclear compositions very similar to that of humans, thus the formation of this product is effective in use for individuals and collectively.

Asthmachilca contains Eupatorinoside glycosides, resins that justify its pharmacological uses. It is used as a bronchodilator, and is administered at the beginning of an asthma attack. The mechanisms that produce the beneficial effect is not completely understood, but could be associated with the relaxation of the flat musculature, which would account for the bronchodilator effect. The traditional administration is orally.

In Peru studies have been administered to 100 people with asthma, and the bronchodilator effect has been clearly demonstrated.

Pulmonaria, in addition to Asthmachilca, also possesses the ability to reduce mucilage (the accumulation of thick phlegm) in the bronchial tract. This assists in clearing the pulmonary airways. Saponosides also possess expectorant properties, which helps in the same fashion.

To the strong union of Asthmachilca and Pulmonaria we add Eucalyptus, which is rich in antiseptic oil called Eucalyptol, which has long been proven that it possesses convincing antiseptic properties, which attack the bacteria and viruses. It is also an excellent anti-inflammatory and decongestant.

The fourth ingredient in this compound is Fennel, (Foeniculum vulgare), whose fruit is composed of 2% to 6% of volatile oils: anethole and defencone. These biochemical agents act as stimulants of the mucous membrane and have anti-spasmodic effects which help relax the diaphragm and diminish chronic coughs.

Bee honey also possesses germicidal properties, which make it especially useful for the treatment of pulmonary disorders and repair of the bronchial tracts.

Therefore ASTHMATONIC is recommended for the prevention and treatment of bronchitis and asthma.
