CAT'S CLAW is a powerful anti-inflammatory of great help in the treatment of certain types of cancer due to the isopteropodine alkaloids; that as an alkaloid it seems that on one hand it produces apoptosis (it accelerates the death of the cell) and another it is sitostatic (it halts the growth of the cell). In other words, it performs a double function by attacking the carcinogenic cell, accelerating its death and not allowing its reproduction.

Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa), grown in the highlands of the Peruvian Amazon, differs from another species (Unicaria guianensis), which grows in the lowlands of the Amazon. The lowland species (Unicaria guianensis) has similar properties, but does not contain isopteropodine, which makes it less effective as an immune stimulant.

As a potent antiviral, it has been proven that it cures herpes, ulcers, sinusitis, colitis, gastritis, hemorrhoids, viruses of the stomach and conjunctivitis. When also acting as an immune regulator in combination with the antiviral drugs used to treat people with HIV, it enhances the effect of the HIV drugs but lessens the side effects of the same drugs.

The active substances in Cat’s Claw are: Isopteropodine (which helps boost immune system response and inhibits virus reproduction), Rincofiline (which prevents the formation of clots or thrombus in the brain, heart or lungs), Carragenine and other glycosides (anti-inflammatories that work effectively with arthritis, prostate problems, bursitis and rheumatism), Betasitosterol (also an anti-inflammatory that helps with irregularities in the menstrual cycles, with symptoms of PMS and inhibits female cancers).

Cat’s Claw is also recognized as a strong anti-oxidant, since the plants that act as anti-inflammatories also have antioxidant properties, thus it can assist with environmental toxins and reduction of free radicals. It has been used in cases of chronic fatigue syndrome, organic depression and acne, as well as diverticulitis, gastritis, intestinal parasites, irritable bowel syndrome, leaky bowel, and intestinal flora imbalance

Cat’s Claw is also used for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, bursitis, rheumatism, lupus and fibromialgia. It can be an effective allergy treatment because it inhibits the formation of histamines in the system, which is what produces the allergic reaction process. It can also be used in cases of neurobronchitis and asthma.

Doctors who specialize in wellness medicine recommend a standardized dose of this product, in order to ensure the active ingredient of each dose is consistent, thus ensuring the effectiveness of the treatment.
